thyrotrophin alfa __ mg IM (into buttock) Q24H for 2 doses.
Dosages
>16 years old and Adults: 0.9 mg IM into buttock Q24H for 2 doses.
Mechanism of Action
Thyroid stimulating hormone - adjunct to thyroid radioiodine ablation.

Comments
Adjunct to thyroid radioiodine ablation.
On the B.C. Cancer Benefit List.
The second dose should be administered 24 hours prior to blood testing and radioiodine scanning/therapy.
Safety and efficacy have not been established in children <16 years of age.
