Apply __ ml to wound 20-30 minutes prior to repair.
Dosages
Apply 1-3 mL/dose to wound for 20-30 minutes prior to laceration repair.
Mechanism of Action
Topical anesthesia and vasoconstriction
Forms Supplied
Compounded (by BCCH pharmacy) gel for topical use.
Lidocaine 4%, Adrenalin 1:2000, tetracaine 0.5% in 50 mL jars.

Comments
For use in Emergency Department only.
Refer to Guidelines for Lidocaine-AdrenalineTetracaine (LAT) in the Emergency Department for administration and monitoring.
Caution with application to digits, penis, nose, ears and mucous membranes.
Suggested maximum application time is 90 mins to avoid skin reaction.
Duration of anesthesia is 45-60 mins following removal.
