Dosages
Anti-inflammatory:
20-25 mg/kg/dose Q6H
Antiplatelet:
1-5 mg/kg/dose PO once daily.
Max 325 mg
Round doses to nearest quarter tablet and consider alternate day dosing for small doses.

Antiplatelet agent; Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)

Comments
Use cautiously in platelet and bleeding disorders.
Follow serum levels when used as an antirheumatic./anti-inflammatory

A.S.A. may increase the risk of Reye's syndrome following acute febrile illnesses, especially influenza or chicken pox (Reye’s syndrome is dose related and usually associated with doses over 40 mg/kg).
