Dosages
Treatment of α-adrenergic Drug Extravasation:
Make a 1 mg/mL solution with NS; inject 0.2 to 1 mL aliquots SC around site of extravasation.
Max total dose 0.2 mg/kg or 5 mg total.
Make a 1 mg/mL solution with NS; inject 0.2 to 1 mL aliquots SC around site of extravasation.
Max total dose 0.2 mg/kg or 5 mg total.
Mechanism of Action
Alpha-adrenergic receptor blocker.

Injection: 5 mg/vial
Comments
DO NOT INJECT IV WHEN TREATING EXTRAVASATION.
For extravasation, consider benefits versus risks (local effects versus systemic hypotension).
