Dosages
Aplastic Anemia:
40 mg/kg/dose hr IV once daily x 4 days.
40 mg/kg/dose hr IV once daily x 4 days.
Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant:
20-40 mg/kg/dose hr IV once daily per protocol.
Mechanism of Action
Immunosuppressant; purified, pasteurized, horse immune globulin

Comments
Not to be confused with rabbit anti-thymocyte globulin, brand name Thymoglobuline
Intradermal sensitivity testing (5 mcg/dose intradermally with contralateral saline control) is recommended prior to the administration of the initial dose of ATG, but may not be predictive of future sensitivity reactions

Pre-treatment with acetaminophen, steroids and antihistamines may reduce the incidence of rigors, fever, rashes.
